There's no Funk reading for today. Just read this Introduction to FOIA from Lamdan's Environmental Information.
Now that we've wrapped up the rulemaking process, we'll spend today talking about how to research for our comment assignment.
I also want to introduce you to my favorite research tool: The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). I used exclamation points for today's blog post because research and FOIA are my favorite and I'm very excited to share them with you.
Bring your comment ideas and goals with you to class (you can write them down or bring them in your mind), and we'll discuss the best ways to find the data, statistics, and persuasive/authoritative materials we need to write an effective comment about the proposed Clean Water Act 401 certification rule.
In the meantime, here's a FOIA overview video from Washington Post, featuring their FOIA superstars, including Kimbriell Kelly and Steven Rich.
